We managed to get hold of another Korean female rapper and then we told her, "look let's do this interview."
Real Mee is her name and she is cute. Just the cutest of the cutest. Have a look at the photos. Anyway she a dope rapper. Our beautiful curator Ferd Isaacs asked her a few questions.
Who are you and where are you from?
My rap name is Real Mee and my real name is Jeon Mee. I was born in China, but I'm Korean now because I have been living here for long time.
How did you get your rap name?
My college friend helped me with my rap name because they always called me, Mee. Also I wanted to be a 'real' artist so I got this rap name.
How long have you been rapping?
Almost one year.
Describe your rap style.
I have many different styles. When I make trap songs, I usually try to make it smooth like Summer Day (one of my songs). However, when I make boom bap songs, I try to make it hard and tough. I prefer to rap in a low tone when I make boom bap styled songs.
What is it that motivates you to write rhymes?
When were you born?
I was born in 1995.
As a child did you know where babies came from?
Yes. I just roughly knew about it.
What is your favorite Korean food?
I love Chicken Feet. I really like it.
Have you ever been drunk and woke up not knowing where you are?
Nope, but I have had a similar experience. Few months ago, when I woke up I was in a stranger's car, but they were not bad people. They just helped me because I was drunk.
Are you part of a crew?
Yes. My crew name is 'Zoo of Opportunity'. We have five members including a
beat maker.
Who are the rappers that you look up to/admire?
I admire Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar. Firstly, I like Travis Scott because his rapping style is so trendy and his song is dope. I like Kendrick because I like his music video clips and messages from his songs. Also his rapping style and lyrics are awesome.
Favorite producers?
I like Mura Masa because his beat style is like a bouncy ball.
What are your Facebook/Instagram/Twitter links?
Are you working on new music?
Yes, my trap-styled song is almost done.
Any plans for your future in Rap/Hip-Hop?
This year, I will focus on improving my rap skills. I'll try to listen to lots of music and to make many different songs. I trust it will help me find my own style. From next year, I will participate in many performances and collaborate with many musicians to widen my vision. Please cheer me on! :)
